The Historical Gem of Malacca

In one of Malaysia's third smallest city, Malacca also known as Melaka in Malay displays a very foreign culture in a Malaysian country. It is a very beautiful town filled with many historical culture and heritage.

One of Malacca's famous land marks is called Jonker Street. Along this street is filled with many antique stores. However as Malacca is a tourist place, it sells many goods aiming for tourists aswell as clothing and craft goods. And of course there are many restaurants. Malacca is known for its Chicken rice balls. On a hot day in Malaysia, it is easy to spot restaurants selling ais kachang. Malacca is a very cultural state as it has been occupied by Chinese, British, Dutch, Portuguese and Japanese.

Buildings of Melacca shows the beauty of historical sites.

The Christ Church of Malacca were built by the Dutch.

We went to a musuem in Malacca and the great thing about this museum was that it was FREE ENTRY. It show cased many nice buildings.

A slope-ish hill I went on to attempt to see the city of Malacca. haha

Another historical site is St Paul's Church built during the Portugese Empire. The church has many tombstones laying around the walls inside the church.

Followed by St Paul's Church is the A Famosa which is a fortress builting during the Portuguese empire.

Malacca also has another museum which is a replica of a sunken ship, Flor de la Mar in 1511. It is a maritime museum.

Malacca's Water Wheel.

I reckon Malacca has a very strong foreign culture. The city has Malacca river running through it and it just reminds of me Venice! You can take a cruise through it too.

Malacca is indeed a beautiful city. It was simply amazing to look at historical sites and just imagine what life was even like more than 500 years ago. Till this day, it is just amazing to see many ruined sites still standing today.
